Tressler shuts down Kutztown as Bloomsburg Splits Double-Header

BLOOMSBURG- Chris Tressler (Lewistown/Lewistown) and Grant Kernaghan (Upper Darby/Upper Darby) teamed up for a five-hit shutout as the Bloomsburg University baseball team defeated Kutztown 1-0 in game two of the Huskies PSAC-East opening doubleheader on Saturday. The Huskies fell in game one by a score of 5-1.

Tyler Ganser's (Lancaster/Lampeter-Strasburg) RBI single in the top of the fourth inning proved to be the game winner for the Huskies, who improve their record to 6-18 overall, 1-1 in the PSAC East.

In game one, the Huskies scored their lone run in the third inning when Preston Hitchcock (Laceyville/Lock Haven) had a one out single to score Carlos Medina (Lititz/Manheim Twp). Chace Phillips (Milton/Milton) gave up five earned runs in six innings of work on the mound for Bloomsburg.

The Huskies return home tomorrow when they host Kutztown. The double-header gets underway at 1:00 p.m.
